Could CBD Oil from Hemp Result in a Positive Drug Test?

There is no collusive answer to this question. This question will probably always be up for debate. From the research, I’ve done and personal experience with CBD and hemp, my opinion would be NO. I highly doubt you would fail a drug test but anything is possible, right? I mean Donald Trump is president, haha! Below I will explain why I don’t think CBD from hemp would result in a positive drug test.

The Hemp Farming Act of 2018 was passed that made hemp (not marijuana) legal on a Federal level as long as it has 0.3% or less THC in it. Hemp has a very small, trace amount of THC in it which you would not be able to high from a single serving. You could consume a whole bottle of CBD oil derived from hemp and not even get close to becoming high or get a psychoactive effect from it.

You have a better possibility of getting drunk on non-alcoholic beer than to get high from taking CBD from hemp. Let me explain…

Non-alcoholic beer has .5% alcohol content per 12 ounces of beer in a can. CBD from hemp has .3% THC in it. From my calculations, Non-alcoholic beer is almost 2 times more intoxicating than CBD from hemp.

You would have to drink 10 non-alcoholic beers to equal the alcohol content of one regular beer. The alcohol content in 1 regular beer leaves your body in 1 hour. So you could drink 10 non-alcoholic beers in an hour and they wouldn’t affect you. Your body has plenty of time to process such a small amount of alcohol. Have you ever heard of anyone getting drunk or buzzed on non-alcoholic beer, I don’t think so…

I realize that alcohol and THC are two different things and our bodies process them differently. That’s the best analogy I can come up with to give you a visual of how harmless CBD oil derived from hemp is.

Now ask your self this question again “do you think a drug (urine) test would come back positive for THC from CBD from hemp? I highly doubt it. If you were to take a less conventional test like a hair follicle test, maybe, but highly unlikely. The test would have to be ultra-sensitive. But like I said before anything is possible.

CBD from Hemp VS CBD from Marijuana

There are two different types of cannabis. Hemp is part of the cannabis family. Marijuana is also part of the cannabis family. One of them is intoxicating, one of them isn’t. Funnily, you could compare this to people. Someone can be a drunk and always drink beer to excess. Another can have a casual drink and stop at 1 beer, be in the same family but not get a psychoactive effect from it.

These are round about numbers but most hemp contains .3% THC or less. Marijuana contains around 20% THC. Nobody smokes hemp to get high. Just like no one drinks non-alcoholic beer to get drunk. I’ve tried before, after the 2nd beer I gave up. Lol.

Marijuana is still federally illegal. People smoke marijuana to get high or get a psychoactive effect. Hemp is not a mind-altering substance and is legal.

Is Cannabis Oil Legal?

There are 2 types of cannabis. One type of cannabis is legal, hemp (<.3%thc). The other type, marijuana, is illegal because it is packed with THC. With that in mind I would say most of the CBD being marketed today online, and in stores is CBD derived from hemp. I’m sure there is someone out there that has or will sell try to sell CBD derived from marijuana but you’re very unlikely to run into that.

Full Spectrum, Broadspectrum, or Isolate?

When you’ve researched and chosen which company you want to buy CBD products from you find yourself faced with another decision. What type of CBD oil should I buy? There are 3 different variations of CBD oil,

Full Spectrum – Full spectrum CBD oil contains CBD plus CBDA and over 100 other phytocannabinoids. This is called the entourage effect. This means all the cannabinoids are working together to create harmony or homeostasis in the body. Hempworx makes a full-spectrum CBD oil that is made from the whole hemp plant. Nothing is gone to waste.

Broad Spectrum – The term broad-spectrum CBD states it contains all the phytocannabinoids that Full Spectrum has minus the THC. Small trace amounts of THC in the CBD oil is beneficial to the body.

Isolate – Isolate CBD oil only contains CBD and NONE of the other 100+ phytocannabinoids and is free of THC. Why would anyone buy Isolate CBD oil? They offer it because people are still scared about .3% or less THC in a bottle. They still think they could get high from hemp. Not so.

Research Before Consuming CBD Products

It’s the wild west out there when it comes to CBD oil. People are popping out of the woodwork trying to get in on the green rush. The FDA has found a lot of CBD companies not putting what’s advertised on the bottle in the bottle. The milligrams of CBD for example. They just slap a label with CBD on the bottle and call it good to make fast cash.

Unfortunately, this gives CBD oil a bad name when companies participate in deceitful and deceptive practices. The consumer is the person who gets that bad end of the stick. The customer may not be getting real CBD oil in the first place and secondly, they’re getting ripped off and lastly they might think CBD oil doesn’t work for them when they weren’t taking real CBD oil in the first place.

It makes me upset when people are taken advantage of. When companies care more about making profits than helping people. Have you heard of hemp harming anyone, much less kill them? My answer is “NO”. Of course not. Why was it considered a schedule 1 drug before the 2018 Farm bill? Better yet how do you abuse hemp? How can you get addicted to hemp? The answer is you can’t abuse hemp or get addicted to it. We’ve all been fed a bunch of propaganda which is sad when you start peeling back the stinky layers of this onion.

So before you trust what anyone says, heck even what I say, do research. You’ll feel better you did, I promise! Before you buy oil from uncle Sal make sure it meets the criteria on the CBD products checklist below.
